Dr. Jill

Today was Riley’s second visit to the dentist and I must say it went so much more smoothly than the first.  She relaxed at the play kitchen before we .  Keith and I had been ‘practicing’ opening wide with her and it seemed to pay off,  no crying and a fabulous report.  We stopped by to say hello to the butterflies and then lunch at Chick-fil-A.  We even squeezed in a quick car ride before nap.

After all the excitement of yesterday,  we were planning on a morning at the Botanic Gardens with friends today.  I can’t even begin to describe how much fun it is to have all of these girls together or how difficult it is to get a picture 🙂  We strolled through the main garden before heading over to the Children’s garden for some running and water play.  Bridges are tons of fun, as is the stream and after getting properly wet Riley loves to be ‘wrapped’ up.

We kept thinking it was awfully hot,  no wonder…check out the temperature.

Turns out all that heat and fun was so invigorating Riley didn’t want to nap but was in a great mood so she helped Keith and I pick out new shoes and we even ventured out to an early dinner.  Here she is trying on my old shoes and enjoying her first steamed mussels.  That’s my girl!!

Headed to Boulder for bagels this morning.  Love that we can eat outside and people watch.  And is there nothing better than a summer dinner 🙂  Gratuitous playground shot,  I couldn’t resist.

Fun surpriseWe were anxiously awaiting the arrival of our guests on Friday (my stepmother, Mie, and sister, Anneke),  when I noticed our heat hadn't come on yet.  To sum it up our furnace ended up needing to be replaced but they wouldn't be installing the new one until Saturday.  Mie and Anneke were great sports about the less than balmy temps in the house and we managed to have a great afternoon.  Tiny was intrigued to find out what was in the box.  I was thrilled that it is a vintage bread maker, crank style,  along with some fabulous books and fun alphabet soaps 🙂

Saturday,  Keith was such a sweetie and stayed home with the furnace guys…all day while the girls headed off to the zoo.  Auntie Ani pointing out the monkeys,  chillin' with Auntie Mie, and making new friends (In an unprecedented act, Tiny just went over and took this adorable boy's hand).Monkeys Bench in the zoo Making friends

Sunday, we made bucket bread.  Lots of fun and very yummy.  We made two loaves into cinnamon raisin bread and left one as a sandwich loaf.  Check out the cool bucket.Baking bread Stirring
