Railroad Museum

Trains, trains, trains everywhere.  I thought we could try something new today.  The railroad museum was fun but I think Riley will enjoy it even more when she is a bit older.  The HO scale model in the basement was spectacularly detailed and it was very interesting to check out the engines and cars outside. We even found a lovely park nearby for our picnic.

Zoo Fun

We had an early morning and decided to change-up our original plans for the morning and head down to the zoo with some friends.  I am so glad they were up for the last-minute change as we had a fantastic time.  The girls had a blast and us Moms actually managed to chat.

Watercolors

I ran across a set of travel watercolors and thought we might give them a try.  They were quite a hit.  Check out Riley’s “boo boo sticker”,  we’ve been using stickers for those not quite band-aid worthy boo boo’s.

And I can’t remember why Keith got the headset but this was too cute to pass up :)

Special Delivery

I have been working on a very special quilt these past few weeks.  My amazing grandmother is celebrating a very special birthday this year.  She is so special in so many ways and has taught me many things over the years.  I remember all the fabulous things she made for me as I was growing up including the Christmas stocking that I still use and cherish every year.  I wanted to make her a quilt.  I wanted it to be cheerful and cozy (she lives where it is rather cold).  I hope I achieved that and that she enjoys it half as much as I enjoyed making it for her.   Riley loves to help,  she worked with me on arranging the blocks on the design wall and of course wanted to help with the photography.  This is Riley and her great grandma from last year.

5 little girls

We had the pleasure of spending the day at the zoo friends.  It is always lots of fun to see all our little girls together, even if it is nearly impossible to get their picture :)   We rounded out the morning with a ride on the carousel (Riley’s obsessed) and a fantastic picnic lunch.

Sunday Fun

We went for bagels this morning and then decided to spend a little time with the butterflies, and Rosy of course.  Check out the cute layer cake skirt I whipped up for Riley.

Crafty Inspiration

Riley and I left Keith home this morning to move his office downstairs (much easier without an audience) and we headed off to the Horseshoe Market with Michelle.  Craftiness abounds,  lots of fun!
